Landscapes were traditionally all about the scenery.
Today however, the scenes most familiar to us are often encroached by man-made objects. That’s not to say a beautiful scene isn’t worthy of painting but I do find it interesting when something out of place appears in the landscape. To me it adds credibility, creates an anchor point and reminds us of a human presence.
